Motorcycles Saving Cars!

Back in the day, especially in Jolly olde England, the motorcycle sidehack was a common means of carrying more on a regular bike. The Automobile Association had several of these rigs sent out to help stranded motorists. This purchase for the AA was for 72 new units to help patrol and aid!  Here's a pic of some of the new arrivals, circa 1952:
